Matters of the Heart

Usually, when we talk about matters of the heart, we may take it to mean the physical chamber itself, with the ventricles, the pumping of the blood, and the overall mechanics of it.  But here, we’ll be talking about the non-physical. What can’t be seen with the eyes, measured by beats per second, or explained by use of the Incredible Enigmatic Brain.

In a time when so many of us are dealing with loss, doubts, fear, frustration and anger, it is becoming more and more clear that the way through this lies within us all. Individually and as a collective. It lies within our hearts. The non-physical aspects of our hearts. It is something that is so true to our nature, yet so difficult for us to express and embrace. But I am certain that the most simple and most challenging answer to it all, is Love.

What makes it so difficult for us to show Love and Compassion to our fellow humans? As beings of Light and Love, are we not all deserving of it? Even those that we do not agree with?  Is it a protection mechanism? Is it our own unresolved trauma?

The way that we treat our fellow humans is not a reflection of them, it is a reflection of ourselves.

So we may ask, how is it that I treat myself? How do I talk to myself? What do I think of myself? How do I show Love and Compassion for myself, my mistakes, my shortfalls? These are such important questions to ask, because to truly be able to Love, Accept, and have Compassion for others, we first must first practice this same devotion towards ourselves.

There seems to be such a big push towards tolerance these days. Don’t get me wrong, that’s all well and good, but who wants to be Just Tolerated? It’s possible for one to say that they tolerate someone or groups of someone’s without really accepting them. It’s also possible for there to be acceptance and tolerance, but no real true understanding and connection. Wouldn’t it enrich us more, as humans, to be met with Love, Acceptance and Compassion? Because where tolerance comes from knowledge in the brain, Compassion comes straight from the Heart.

I believe that at the root of what is truly happening here on our planet is a call to reconnect with the Heart. We are being challenged to open and expand and heal so that we can Love More Deeply. What would it look like if we Loved each other through all this chaos, instead of being in opposition? How would it feel if we were not met with Just Tolerance, but with actual Compassionate Love Energy straight from the heart?

It is well known that everything vibrates at its own frequency. Everything physical, non-physical, and all of the emotions. Including fear; and including Love.

And actually, that can be measured.

Just check out the studies of water and emotions by Dr. Masaru Emoto. His fascinating work shows that, without a doubt — because water makes up so much of our planet as well as much of our bodies — and being that we are all connected, our thoughts, actions, and words affect not only ourselves but each other. And if you want to take it bigger, look at the energy of this planet.

So, while we are busy celebrating a season of expressions of the heart, I invite you to sit with and consider the real potential power behind a simple thing called Love.
